On April 21, Virginia voters will decide on a constitutional amendment that claims to "restore fairness" to redistricting.
Don't be fooled by the ballot language.
Here's what the referendum actually does:
Destroys the independent redistricting commission Virginians approved 66–34 in 2020.
Gives partisan politicians the power to draw gerrymandered maps. Meaning they decide who wins before a single vote is cast.
Takes districts away from working-class communities in the Shenandoah Valley and Tidewater and gives more political power to the wealthiest region in the state.
Your vote matters.
Don't let politicians throw it away.
